"Well..." Sokka tried to wrap his mind around the question. "It really belongs to the author, no matter what, right? So the author can write whatever they want, and that's what the character is. If the author screws up, or goes crazy, or something, the fans can accept that or not, but it doesn't really change things for the author... But they can still try to persuade the author to change things back?" He scratched his head. "At the same time, if they want to fanfiction, or to re-write a book, or whatever... that's their right? As long as they're not making money off of it, who cares?"
