"Hello, everyone," Sam greeted the class, who would find handouts already at their desks. "As promised, today we're going to discuss the many theories of how light works. First, there's the Indian theories, which is really the first place where we begin to see light itself made up by atoms. The Greeks had a rather unique theory, at least by our standards, that humans are able to see because of rays of light that emit from our eyes. Which, intriguing, but a bit too sci fi and comic book for me, personally."

"As if that wasn't enough, there is also optical theory, which we covered a little bit last week, particle theory, wave theory, electromagnetic theory, and quantum theory."

She went on to explain the ins and outs of each theory in extreme detail. Probably extremely extreme detail.

"Today's experiment involves light, but somewhat indirectly. I've set up a series of cameras and film for you--none of which are digital, since I want you to have fun manipulating light to create different images on the film. Develop your pictures, see what you get, and come back and report your results, okay? If you want to bring the pictures, feel free."

Chad, of course, took the usually heavy notes, keeping up with the lecture.

As of lately, Chad had always been on the other side of a camera, so he found this exercise a little fascinating. It was oddly applicable; knowing about things from this end could help him get a better shot on the other end.

Ichigo Kurosaki

Ichigo had taken pictures before, he'd just never developed them that would be... interesting. He'd grabbed one of the cameras and was looking through the lens, possibly already snapping a few shots just to try it out.

John Sheppard

John was, naturally, at his desk taking notes with his eyes closed.

Minus the taking notes part.

Messing with the cameras was actually pretty entertaining, so John played around with a few different lenses, trying to take pictures of people who weren't paying attention.

Sokka

Sokka took lots and lots of detailed notes.

The idea of a non-digital camera was a little novel and confusing for Sokka, but he had a good time taking random pictures of the room and trying different angles and lighting effects.

Sokka noticed what John was doing and slyly started pretending to not be paying attention, so that he could (hopefully) get a picture of John taking a picture of him.

Anyone not paying attention was up for grabs as far as John was concerned and he worked to mess with his lens and the lighting in the room to make Sokka look as weird as possible. Which was hard considering what he was starting with.

Sokka waited until it looked like John was about to take the picture, then whipped his camera into place. If he was lucky, he'd get a picture of a bright flash with funny-looking hair sticking up behind it.

"BOO-YAH!!!"

Kevin was crap with cameras, so he picked up the simplest one and snapped a few pictures of himself.

Rikku

Rikku was taking notes. And bouncing. Oooooh, particles and waves and quantums!

Rikku tried lining up a few cameras and pressing all the buttons at once. To see how differently each of the cameras took the picture.
