Enjoying Those Teenage Years [period 5, Tuesday]

"Hola, tiny children," Robin said, filing her nails and looking bored from where she was perched on the edge of a desk in the perfectly normal looking classroom. "Big thank you to Brooke for covering class last week. I'm sure you guys aren't all entirely unfamiliar with the whole changing-into-an-animal thing; anyone who makes a joke about the fact that I changed into a female dog gets a detention. Not because it's not funny. It's just already been done."

She got up, stretched, and started passing out papers. "So, since I was a dog ~~and my player is still SUPREMELY out of it thanks to jetlag and all~~ and I didn't have time to work on lesson plans or whatever, we have an easy class today. I want to see what you learned about messing with authority. You're each getting in trouble for something -- each of these papers has a scenario on it. Pretend I'm the arresting officer, and tell me why you don't deserve it. For this exercise, let's all assume you were found guilty. You failed your breathalyzer, you parked in a fire zone, you really did break your curfew -- whatever. Your job is to get out of the violation, however you can. Whatever it is, it's not about whether you did it or not -- it's why. Play to my sympathies, or use what you have to your advantage. Make me want to retract it."

She cleared her throat once all the papers were out. "And um, I'm not good at this, but you guys were a really good class. Like, I hate kids, and you guys didn't make me hate Tuesdays. Well done, guys. If you come in on Thursday, your first round's on me, okay? I would've brought booze today but I'd rather not get fired when I'm so close to actually finishing my first teaching gig, you know?"

Michael Guerin: Loitering. You stood outside a 7-11 for eight hours and are being chased off by the cops now. Explain how you're going to get out of this one, using whatever resources you have available to you.

Jo Harvelle: You accidentally shot someone in the face, much like you silly Americans' vice president. Explain how you're going to get out of this one, using whatever resources you have available to you.

Angela Montenegro: Disturbing the peace. You threw a party, and your neighbors called and bitched to the cops, who are now here to shut it all down. Explain how you're going to get out of this one, using whatever resources you have available to you.

Jeff Murdock: Lewd conduct. You were caught peeking through Harriet the Cougar's bedroom window, and have been caught by the authorities. Explain how you're going to get out of this one, using whatever resources you have available to you.

Ned: Grand theft auto. Yep. You stole a car. A really, really nice car. Explain how you're going to get out of this one, using whatever resources you have available to you.

Warren Peace: Gambling. You were caught making wagers in an area in which it is prohibited, such as in South Carolina. Explain how you're going to get out of this one, using whatever resources you have available to you.

Rikku: Solicitation. Yeah, that kind. You got busted by a vice cop under cover. Explain how you're going to get out of this one, using whatever resources you have available to you.

John Sheppard: Lewd conduct. You mooned someone. Except the someone you mooned was a cop. Oops. Explain how you're going to get out of this one, using whatever resources you have available to you.

Dean Winchester: Armed robbery. You held up a Baskin Robbins. As in the ice cream chain. Yep. Explain how you're going to get out of this one, using whatever resources you have available to you.

Ino Yamanaka: Possession of animals. You have acquired a pet hippo. Unfortunately, the area in which you live has restrictions on pets, and hippos are kinda not allowed, so they're going to take your dear little pet away. Explain how you're going to get out of this one, using whatever resources you have available to you.

I'm still adjusting to being on this continent again, so I'm given to somewhat random naps and completely random wandering-offs. Just a warning.

"Demon," Jo said. "The man was clearly possessed, it was only rock-salt, and really, I was doing you all a favour here."

Although she really didn't want to have to do this, Turtle knew that Jeff had very bravely done the same for him, so, if anything, she was incredibly obligated. Even if he had it easy by having to explain a turtle.

"Um, Miss Scherbatsky?"

"Hmm?" Robin was trying to figure out if this girl had actually been in her class the whole time and she just hadn't paid attention, or what. "What's up?"

"Hi. Turtle Wexler," she said, nodding a little, because she didn't think that she and Robin-not-a-Frog had ever really ever been formally introduced. "I'm Jeff Murdock's girlfriend, and I figured I should probably come and tell you that he's not in class today because he's currently a rock."

It wasn't so bad so long as she didn't have to go into any details, really.

Robin winced, but wasn't really surprised. "Oh god, a rock? Poor Jeff. I mean, it was bad enough being an animal, but at least I could run around and stuff, you know?"

Oh, man. She didn't even know the half of it. "Uh, yeah," Turtle agreed with a nod. "It's really unfortunate, but here's to hoping he has a nice swift recovery."

"Yeah, thanks for letting me know," she said, nodding. "And I hope he gets better as soon as possible. Because that has got to suck."

Chuck Bass

Chuck sighed and pulled his wallet out of his pocket and opened it up. "I'm running a little light today but I do have...let's see...two thousand dollars in here that says I was never here. And, if you keep this under wraps, I will have my father make sure you get a very generous bonus in your next paycheck."

It was almost like he's done this before.

"No problem," Turtle said, smiling a little. "I figured it was only fair, since he did the same for all my classes while I was a turtle last week."

Dōjima Yurika

"...like a literal turtle? 'Cause I'm like ninety percent sure you just said that was your name," Robin said, blinking.

Turtle nodded. "A literal turtle. Because when Fandom decides it's time for me to turn into an animal, it think's it's, ha ha, so funny, let's make her a turtle. Like if it turned you into a literal robin."

"Shhhhhh, the island might hear you," she said, looking worried. "That must've sucked."

Yamanaka Ino

"Oh, come on," she said rolling her eyes. "Just because you can't tell a hippo from a husky is not a good reason to get me in trouble because you need glasses."

A beat.

"Seriously need glasses."

Turtle winced, shrinking into her shoulders and glancing around carefully, looking for any indication that such a thing had happened. "Sorry!" she whispered. "Sorry. But, yeah. What you said. Literal. And all that, and it wasn't too bad; at least this time I had Jeff to carry me around. The last time, I had to walk everywhere and it took for.ev.errrr."

"Did you see that guy grope me?" Dōjima snapped, crossing her arms. "First, I am so much more expensive than he insinuated, just ask my boyfriend. Second, do you really want to deal with all the paperwork when I file the lawsuits, or do you just want me to kick him in the nuts again? I'm doing you a service by making a sexual predator think twice before he touches another woman."
