...or how not to get caught, Period 2, 16 Jul '08
Mohinder had set the danger-shop to look like a school laboratory. It was easier to program in the electronic gadgets that scattered the desks and meant he hadn't had to attack any passing coconuts.
"Audio surveillance," he told the class. "There are restrictions on the use of this in the legal system - warrents for example. But what can we do with a recording like this?" Mohinder held up a dictaphone and thumbed it on, his recorded voice overlapping with a parrot until the play terminated with a clatter and an offended squark.
"Moving away from the parrot-related," Mohinder continued, "Distortions can be removed from the tape; accent, dialects or even individual voices identified. Some techniques claim to identify the emontional state of the speaker." Quickly he summarised recording and simple analysis, before picking up the device on his desk.
"I'd like you to record your own speaking voice, try altering it and compare the results. You could change your pitch, speed, accent, or even language and there are always sound effects."

The parrot on the recording kind of amused her, though.

And then spent the rest of the period swearing at the equipment when she never could quite get her voice to sound less like sandpaper.

You were likely to get one of the posters (http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb3/skylieicons/adahigor1.png) that she had (http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb3/skylieicons/adahigor2.png) brought with her to the class and might be trying to pass to the students once class got out, hoping Dr. Suresh wouldn't terribly mind the solicitation.

Still, Mohinder had to ask, "How many is several times?"
Re: Talk to the TA 2 (HNTGC)
It included the precise
but ironically handwaved because that was all in Igor's courtnumber of experiments done while building it involving alternate subject and the three tests they'd done that morning with the rabbit and the dog."My rabbit," she added on the paper, "is just as good as ever, although significantly more annoyed that he used to be. Turns out he isn't very fond of canines."

"You aren't planning on switching your fellow students with your rabbit, I hope?" he said, with a half-quirked smile.
Re: Talk to the TA 2 (HNTGC)
"As fascinating as that would be," she wrote back, "we're keeping the species lines as closely associated as we can in a place like this. I would be subjecting myself to the experiment if it weren't for the fact that it's probably be best to be of my right body and mind if I'm going to be recording data, and, besides, my brain would have passed the preliminaries for quality."

"Only," she finally wrote, "an approximate twenty-four hour period. While we're quite sure longer would not be harmful, Igor and I feel it would be best to keep the time frame limited as to not exhaust the efforts. It's still fairly 'new' technology. Everyone should be back to their normal bodily state by Saturday evening."
