"So, Roving the Galaxy," the Doctor said, winging it. He might have lost track of the days and forgotten to prepare anything. It was more fun to do it off the cuff anyway. "Galaxy. Roving it. Okay, so, you're all here for whatever reason is your own and you're welcome to talk about it to someone else. Me, I'm probably not going to listen to be perfectly honest, so let's get onto the good stuff. Well, good in the sense that it's not all good but fun! Well, fun if you're into that sort of thing." He realised he was getting off track, paused with a 'I just caught myself getting off track' expression on his face, then started talking again.

"Most of you, I would assume, haven't been too far from home, whether that's Earth, Raxacoricofallapatorious or somewhere I haven't even heard of. Do you know how strange that is, places I haven't heard of? Love it. Beginning to love Fandom because of it. Anyway. Moving on. Over the next couple of weeks, we're going to go through a crash course in the basics of what you need to know to rove the galaxy.

Some weeks we'll go off to another planet, fake planets in this case thanks to this beautiful piece of technology although we might take a field trip at the end of the course, and a lot of weeks we'll deal with aliens coming to Earth. Why? You're not the only ones roving the galaxy. Better get used to it. If you can learn how to be a good host, you'll learn quick smart how to be a good guest when you're out there travelling around.

Smaller class than last time, all good, means we can get to know each other. I'm not much one for introductions, but let's give it a shot, shall we? I'm the Doctor. I'm a 903 year old Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey in the constellation of Kasterborous. I travel a lot and I've been just about everywhere you can point out in the night sky. You," he pointed to the person he was looking at. "Name, species, place of origin and off-world travelling experience."

"Now that that's out of the way, let's do a pop quiz. No, let's not call it a pop quiz, those can be nerve-wracking. Let's go with a brainstorming session. I'll propose a situation where an alien of some description comes into your life. You tell me how you'd deal with it. No deep thought, immediate reaction."

I am in crazy time zone land, so this goes up fairly early in the day or the night before. So for interaction purposes with me, I get to play very early in the morning EST and in the evening from around 6pm. This may change when my employment situation does, but I'll let you know!

Andrew Wiggin

Strike three on the teachers; Ender couldn't imagine a more diverse set of people, and that said a few things about the school. But at least this class seemed like it meant something, like he could learn, and after listening closely, he spoke, "Ender Wiggin, human, and from the United States." The words came one after the other. Matter of fact, because that was all he'd asked. "I've done some interplanetary travel."

It wasn't a lie. He just didn't volunteer too much of the truth.

Gwynn Hood

Gwynn was becoming more and more interested in this class--and he reminded her of one of her teachers her first year here.

"I'm Gwynn Hood. human... and I come from Briton. I have never been of of the planet as far as I know."

Gwynn was obviously interested in the brainstorming. She was taking notes.

"Really? Great fun, isn't it? But if you're from the United States and you've travelled to another planet, I'm guessing you're not from now. When are you from?"

"Britain!" the Doctor exclaimed. "Love that place. Plenty of aliens there, you know. Always seem to be attracted to Britain. Not exactly sure why. Could be the chips."

Gwynn grinned at that. "After everything I've seen in the two years I've been here, I wouldn't doubt that there are aliens in my homeland."

Ender knew about the time problems. He'd found out the year and date quickly enough: he was still wondering at the logic of it, to send him all this way, into the past. Or maybe that was the logic-- take him here, where no one had ever even heard of the Buggers.

"2135," he answered, clearly.

Karal Austreben

"Karal Austreben." Karal placed a hand on Altra's head. "And Altra, who's a Firecat. We are both from Karse, which is in a world called Velgarth. I've only been to this world, but I can't speak for Altra, and I don't think...?" Altra shoook his head, looking smug. "No, he is not sharing whether he has been elsewhere or not."

Setting his recorder on the desk in front of him, Karal waited patiently for his scenario.

Helen Haras-Uquara

"My name is Helen Haras-Uquara. I am human and I come from the world of Uquar ~~which has no name~~. I spent several years Walking the Bounds and traveling to different worlds when I was exiled." She made a face.

Helen sighed quietly and waited to hear. She just hoped it wasn't cannibals.

"Oooh interesting time. Well, more interesting than some but not others. Have you made it outside the solar system yet? You being the actual you, not you in the 'human race in 2135' sense?"

"Does your head, doesn't it? When in Britain's long and glorious (and sometimes not so glorious) history do you call home?"

"Karal," the Doctor repeated. "Karal. Karal." He tried different pronunciations. "Karal?" That time he got it right.

"Exactly right," Karal said with a smile.

:And Altra,: Altra added, sounding miffed at being ignored. :I'm not furniture.:

"No need to make a face here, Helen Haras-Uquara." He was having way too much fun pronouncing everyone's names. "Exile is what you make of it. I had some of the best times of my life - all my lives, actually - while I was in exile. What's this 'Walking the Bounds' business?"
