Paranoia & First Aid, Period 3, 25 Jun '08

Today the Danger Shop looked like a classroom, with one wall removed, backing onto a beach, where the temperature was degrees hotter. Standing in the shade of the remaining walls Mohinder waited as the students arrived.

"Dehydration, or fluid loss," said Mohinder, "Heatstroke can give you a headache, make you tired and dizzy. The longer your temperature is elevated, the worse the symptoms - a 5 or 10 percent drop will need hospitalization." Mohinder went on to discuss countering a heat wave.

"A hangover is a mild form of alcohol induced dehydration. Nausea, vomiting..." Mohinder paused - letting the students fill in the blanks. "The symptoms are unpleasant but temporary, and there are a number of attempts to alleviate the the symptoms - though feel free to make your own inventions instead, and have a good summer."

[OCD is up!]

Savannah had almost not come to class, but she didn't think that was fair to the teacher. She was taking notes, not looking at anyone.

Really.

Johnny listened and certainly wasn't looking at Savannah anyone.

Savannah was looking at all of this wondering if there was a cure for a magic hangover.

Johnny's hangover cure was to fire up. Which he did.

Damn it. She loved it when he did that.

...

Not that she was looking at him, of course.

Still (unnecessarily) bandaged up, Adah was a bit more reserved during this class than she had been during the previous ones; she still smirked, though it was fairly hidden behind a curtain of hair, at Dr. Suresh's failure to cover how to help with the worst hangover symptom of all of discovering who you ended up sleeping with.

She also had to admire him on his cruelty of holding last class with a view of the beach, temptingly nice if it weren't for the heat, or, perhaps, even more so because of it. Despite herself, she still rather appreciated that sort of torture, whether he intended it or not.

He knew she was looking. How could she not?

She loved it when he did this.

Savannah had her hanging over her face to hide so she couldn't see what he was doing.

Damn it.

Not that she was looking, still.
