Courtly Dance and Defence - Week 5, Period 4

"So last week we waltzed," Aly said, just as she finished setting up the video equipment.  "This week, we're going to do something a bit less formal but even more fun and salsa."

She pushed play on the DVD and a series of dances started to play.

Once they were done, Aly demonstrated the basic partnered steps of the salsa, letting the class follow along slowly before clapping her hands and switching on some salsa music.  "Throw your hips into it and move with the music," she said with a grin.  "So go ahead and partner up and give this one a try."

Really, she was just amused to see what some of the members of the class would come up with.

[OOC:  omg, I'm sorry for the lateness on this one!  I got called into work on my day off (yay overtime?) but I am back and around now.]

He was slowly getting over his dissatisfaction with the lack of fighting.

Well, not really. But at least he was willing to do this weekly partner dancing thing.

The salsa was actually one of the dances that Chad knew and felt comfortable with. So now, the only thing is to find a partner...

Andrew wasn't too sure about this salsa thing, so he just kind of stood over to the side and looked at his feet.

Giselle bounced up to him. "Shall we dance?"

"Seems to be the purpose here," John smiled. "You know how to salsa already?" It was always good to know what he was up against.

"Oh, no," she said with wide eyes. "But I know how to dance."

Cassandra remembered that Chad had been an excellent partner for cooking. Maybe he was for dancing too?

She waved at him to find out.

"Like the dances we've already learned?" John went for clarification.

"No, no, no, just dancing," she said. "You don't have to learn to dance! You just do it!"

Inara smiled as she approached Andrew, bouncing slightly to the music. "Would you mind? I'm unfamiliar with the dance, but it looks like such fun."

"You mean the whole hold and sway thing?" He was good at that part. "That I can manage pretty well."

Giselle tilted her head. "Hold and sway? Why would you do that?"
