Class 7 and a half: field trip pt 2
Jareth walks back around the same corner to see the significantly smaller group of students.
"Obviously not all of you know what 'don't move' means. But for those of you who had the good sense to wait for me, we'll be moving on now. The rest...will rejoin us when they've learned that I was serious about obeying me."
He starts to lead the group forward when he spots Hoggle, followed by
notsouledyet and
psycho_barbie.
"Yer majesty, uh, Jareth."
"Yes, Hogwart?"
"Uh, Jareth. I did what you told me and found them in Oubliette number thirty-four, making out!" He shakes his head in disgust.
"At least they didn't try to kiss you, Huggle." He turns to them and smirks. "So good of you to come back from your...detour. I trust it was educational."
He turns to the rest of the class, just as
12parseckessel and
miss_monochrome come hastily back to join the rest of the students.
"We're still missing
harried_potter and
kikidelivers, but I trust they'll be along soon.
"Now, we're going into the Fiery forest in order to avoid the bogand because I have to give someone a drugged piece of fruit. Try to recall what I told you about Fieries and heads and don't get caught up in one of their inferior dances."
There is a very old, peeling door. Jareth wrenches it open with one gloved hand and leads the way through into a dark forest, the ground covered with a perpetual blanket of fall leaves, and eerie almost-music everywhere. If you're paying attention, you will see the occasional Fiery head pop up behind a tree or a shrub, but they like to avoid Jareth if they can. When they get in his way, he tends to kick them and send them to the bog. This doesn't prevent them from snickering at the students and whispering things about "too much hair" and "attached heads". Hoggle glares at them.
The leaves gradually get less fiery and everything turns darker. Eventually, Jareth holds up a hand to halt the class.
"Here, Hogwash." Jareth hands him a crystal which becomes a plum in transit. "Do your job. And while we're waiting, who can give me an example of manipulation that we've seen here today?"

Belatedly realizing that his voice was getting louder, Angelus cleared his throat. "Which, uh, was a spell. Obviously.
And absolutely nothing I liked. At all. Damn it."no subject
And does not blink at DEATH's new head. Though he does back up at least three steps.
