Good evening from the Fandom High auditorium. I'm CJ Cregg and I'll be moderating the Student Council debates.

Our Format tonight will be as follows:
Students and teachers alike will ask questions of the candidates. [Please submit your questions to the moderator via the appropriate thread] Each candidate
will respond to the question in turn, and I will call on each for their response.

After each candidate has gone, any one may request a further rebuttal to address
a point made by an opponent, the granting of which is at my discretion. The press will have full access and are also encouraged to
contribute questions.

In the case of no opponent, the same format will
apply, although the rebuttals will be unnecessary for obvious reasons.

Alanna smiled. "Marty is far from being Satan. Actually, as far as I have seen he is nice, responsible individual who cares deaply for his girlfriend. It's an honor to be running in the campaign that so far has had the least mud slinging. He has some good ideas as well, and would not be the worst person for this position. It's an honor running against him."

Faith swallows a grin and a giggle at the wording of the question.
"Well, I'm not best friends with Elizabeth. But she seems like an incredibly nice girl- she seems polite, even to those running in other parties. She seems smart- I mean, she's running for student council. She is also someone who seems to be well spoken and aware of what she wants to do- she has it together."

For all the candidates, please.

Rory stands at the podium, wringing her hands nervously, but maintaining a calm exterior otherwise.

Phoebe's lips twitch as she tries not to giggle.

"Draco Malfoy is not Satan for the following three reasons:

1) He honestly seems to share the same views I do about what this school needs.
2) He seems to stick by those he calls friends hrough thick and through thin.
3) He's honest. Whether you like his attitude or not, he doesn't wear masks and pretend he's someone other than who he is."

Miss Gilmore. *smiles* Your first question of the evening. What do you see the position of Student Relations as being given our unique environment, what are your goals, and how do you plan to acheive those goals?

Thank you Miss Haliwell.

Draco holds back a chuckle after hearing Professor Cregg's accent.

"Excellent question. I don't want the students to think that because we are running against each other the competing candidates hate each other. I happen to have great respect for both of my fellow students who are running for president.

Phoebe is an extremely involved woman. As Professor Jerusalem's assistant she is extremely dedicated. She's dedicated to him, her schoolwork and her fellow students. I also like how she interacts with everyone, not just a certain group. And unlike others I have met here she always waits to make her own impression of others, she doesn't listen to the gossip that floats around the school.

Number Six is a man who is also dedicated. He loves freedom and will do anything to get it. Also from what I have seen he is very creative and can think of plans easily. And he is extrmely polite and is able to deal with others without hostility.

Rory smiles.

"To me, Student Relations Officer means being an outlet to the student body. I plan to be the link between the government and the students. That's true of any high school. However, here at Fandom High, given the uniqueness of our students and the tensions that run, I acknowledge that as Student Relations Officer, I would need to present a calm, impartial, approachable front. I think I've proven that I am more than capable of maintaining such, given that it reflects my own personality.

If I am elected, I have several ideas that I would want to put into effect. For one, I would have a weekly announcement to the students via the radio, in order to keep the student body informed of what is happening within their government. So many students have mentioned to me that they see student council as just another popularity contest. Of course, that's true - one can't generalize. But I truly do care about this office, and I want to keep my fellow students aware of that.

I also plan to enact several other ideas that will benefit students. A dating service, organized Friday and Saturday night activities, and off-campus trips. I would be happy to elaborate further on those points if anyone is curious."

Mr. Blank, same question. How do you view the position of Security being in our unique environment, what are your goals, and how do you plan to acheive those goals?

Buffy is making notes of each candidate's responses

I think think that the security is of utmost importance. In recent weeks with the zombie attacks, that little blonde kid running around and probably the worst case: Mimes, it is important that our student body have a security officer that can help train, direct and protect them.

As outlined in my campaign platform, the security officer will form a volutary student service group that will help train any students interested in self defense, provide safe escort between Fandomtownies and campus, and a central dispatch service to report any security issues.

Which do you feel is the best choice for a school setting: a good sense of offense, a solid defense, or a combination of both? Why?

Rory grins.

"To be honest, I don't know a thing about Lindsey. I'm sure he's a charming individual - I have heard that he's very intelligent, and shrewd, but also very congenial. But again, I've never really talked to him. And may I compliment your use of pirate jargon, Professor."

Marty smiles.

"Well actually that would entirely depend on the nature of the threat to the school. A horde of zombies? Emphasis on the defense. An attack by a single individual bent on wreaking havoc throughout the school? An emphasis on offense as we try and track that individual down. So to directly answer the question: a combination of both depending on the circumstances."

"You mean beside the fact she doesn't have horns and a spiked tail? Kidding aside, Alanna is actually a very worthy opponent and I have nothing but respect for her. She has natural healing abilities that she uses to benefit the clinic and is very committed individual. I have nothing but good things to say about Alanna and can't think of another person worty of the job. Other than me of course."

Mr. Six, thank you for your patience. You've gotten to hear what the other candidates have said. Now I pose the same question to you:

How do you view the position of President as being in our unique environment, what are your goals, and how do you plan to acheive those goals?

For the presidental candidates:

We hear a lot of talk about diversity, but what about action? What have you actually done to reach out to the different kinds of students in this school and what will you do if you get elected?
