Fencing Club: Salle Wednesday After Classes

Peter had blades and practice blades out in the salle as well as towels and water.  When everyone arrived, he stepped forward.  "Hello.  I'm Peter Pevensie if you all don't already know me.  This is the Fencing Club.  We're going to meet every Wednesday down here in the salle to hopefully all work with our blades and get exposure to a variety of styles."

He gestured to Deadpool if he was there.  "Professor Deadpool is our faculty advisor which means...I'm not sure what it means except that he's in charge if we need a teacher."

"Let's worry about introductions and such next week.  let's just warm up today and start drilling with each other.  If you don't know much about blades or swordwork, come find me and I'll introduce you."

[OOC:  Many many thanks to mouthy_merc who reminded me not twice but three times that we had club today.  I'll be out for a wee bit  this evening but back in plenty of time for tags.]

Thankfully, while his knowledge of swordplay was muddied by the haze of time and youth, he'd been taught recently how to warm up. A bit of movement, a few stretches... this he knows, at least.

"In the interest of not harming myself or others," he said as he sidled over, as unobtrusively as possible, "perhaps introductions might be in order."

He remembered his times down in Red Windmill with the Gale Forcers, what they'd taught him and how he'd played with them. Then there'd been a couple of play bouts with the Home Guardsmen down near Munchkin Mousehole... but that'd been with sticks, both, and his memories of both weren't anything to make him trust any kind of blade, practice or no, in his hands.

He nodded.

"I am, freshly come" from hell in Oz "without much learning in any direction and only a little in this."

He offered his hand, awkwardly, as if not sure it would be desired in any capacity, even one so small as a shake.

"Liir."

For once, that actually makes two of us. Though I almost want to ask why.

"I suppose you're the head of this club?"

He was hoping to make good impressions, after all.

"Succession by secession," he quipped genially enough. "Not that I'd know the difference."

He looked over at the practice swords.

"What would you like me to do?"

He figured he'd best state it plainly.
