Shop Class Period 5 Week 12
Tim bounded in, high on energy (the thermos of coffee from The Perk didn't help).
"Today, we're going to talk about siding. Now, siding is an important part of the house, because without it, it'd be naked. 'Oh, no, I'm naked!'" he said in a falsetto tone. "'Don't look at me. Don't look at me!'" He grinned.
"There's a lot of siding options. There's brick, clapboard, T-111 for sheds and bad houses, shake shingles, vinyl, aluminum, and stucco. There's a couple more like asbestos and metal, but those I listed are the common ones and the ones you'd find in most remodeling jobs. If you run across asbestos...just keep running. Heh heh heh..."
He went into a bit more in-depth, explaining the different materials, how much maintenance and upkeep was involved, ease of installation, and ease of removal. "Of course, the easiest way to remove it is to knock it all down and start over, which is whatcha gotta do for some remodels."
He gestured to several walls that were pre-fabbed. "Today? Hang some siding. Cedar shake shingles, vinyl, shoot some stucco, your choice."
