Greco-Roman Archaeology:

I reset attendance and homework. From now on, it's going to be consecutive misses instead of cumulative to get you into detention. So three consecutive misses and four consecutive days without handing in homework = detention.

Today we're going to watch a video on temples. Please try to stay awake.

And today we're working on more of that crazy Herodotus' Histories. I hope you are all enjoying it so far. We're jumping around like crazy, so that we can read a translation of The Aeneid and I'm trying to look for a piece that's in Egyptian for the last third of class.

Homework: Continue analyzing, this time reading pages 50-80 for Monday.

Duce slides into class, stays awake through video, hands in summary.

"Coffee, Dan-- Dr. Jackson?" The smile she gives him could melt stone. "No sugar, splash of milk."

Rory takes detailed notes during the video, which she hands in on time.

Really there's nothing useful for Beka to say, but she doesn't want to stop talking to him because he's one of the Refugees. He's part of her family. He's one of Jack's people. He's Janet's boyfriend. He's Daniel, and that last may be the most important part. "I know. I pay attention to things that matter to me."

*He melts even more and is pretty much mush throughout the rest of the video. Thankfully he doesn't have to teach anything*

Although she had a hard time watching the video instead of Daniel, Beka's done her usual excellent job on her assignment and hands it in on time.

[I promised no distracting subtext in class, so I'll behave. But Beka's thinking subtexty thoughts at Daniel. *wink*]

*She tries to watch the video, does, but is conscious of the warmth spreading through her and the sweet, safe feeling of being where Daniel is.*

*mumbles while reading* I *still* say that if you're going to translate something you should you know... use actual English.

Thomasina shows up for class on time, takes her usual seat and waits to discover what a video is and how it differs from slides.

Sonia finds her usual seat, and begins taking notes on the video. She's in noticably brighter spirits today than in the past week.
