Class 5: An interlude

Now that we all know what this course will be about, roughly, it's time to become a little more familiar with your classmates.

Today is show-and-tell.

Each person will take something that they have brought today and present it to the class (no, you may not run back to the dorms to hunt for something 'cool'). Start with your name and the reason you are at this...special...school.

We are going to have a lab class on Wednesday. Any one who cannot attend will need to bring me documentation from someone more important to be excused. Zombies problems may or may not be an excused, depending on what exactly happened.

Now, who would like to go first?

Susan steps forward, holding Death of Rats by his bony tail.

"My name is Susan Sto Helit, I'm here because I wanted an education at a normal school," she says, and rolls her eyes, "and this is a rat*. Who is not cool, and who is going right back where he came from!"

"I'm Logan Echolls." Logan takes a stainless steel Zippo lighter from his pocket. He flips it open and flicks it on his jeans to light it. "This belonged to my grandfather," he says. "He got it in Seoul, right before he was captured by the Koreans. When he got out, he had it engraved." Logan tilts the lighter so those nearby can read the engraving - FREE AT LAST. "And it's handy around zombies."

Um, my name's Chiana and I'm at this school because... it was an accident I needed someplace to hide ...'cause I wanted to know what Earth was like.

"Well...I'm Draco Malfoy. I'm here because the people at my old school are trying to kill me didn't understand me very well. And uh, I have my wand. It's made of dark alder and has a dragon heartstring core. I uh, preform spells with it."

*Paige sits down and looks in her bag. She pulls out her flask*

I'm Paige Matthews I got sent here after my old school kicked me out and this *she holds up the flask* is a never ending flask of wine a friend gave me.

Illyana looks around and shrugs. "I'm Magik, I'm from Limbo and I'm here because it seemed like a good idea at the time." She stood up and closed her eyes. A silver light encompassed her and as she moved her hand out from her chest, a silver light sword started forming in her hand. "And this...is my soulsword. Any questions?"

"I'm Xander; I transferred here to avoid getting devoured by a giant snake at my previous school, and I have..." He pats himself down, and grins at what he finds in his left front pocket. No, not that. Jesus, you people are sick. "A Chocolate Hurricane. Did you people know you can get these in Wonka's? They don't even make them anymore, but you can find them in this town. Which is reason enough to prefer it to my hometown, even before you get to the no being devoured part."

This is a Xanthalian blossom. A very rare plant from my homeland which is the key ingredient in a powerful hallucinogen with which I plan to spike the homecoming punch, provided I can brew it up in time.

"Angelus," he said, perhaps stressing the final syllable more than he usually would. "Here to learn, same as all of my fellow students. As for object... here. Charcoal pencils. I am all about being creative in my free time."

*DEATH, for those inclined to see such things, stands up, wearing purple eyeliner around his sockets and a rather sickly shade of pink blush, hoping it will increase his chances of being nominated for Homecoming Queen. He holds up his scythe, which seems to glow blue around the edges and has several colored condoms attached to it.*

"Um . . ." He puts his wand on his desk. "My name is Remus Lupin, and I'm here because there were some problems with me being at my other school.

"This is my wand. Where I come from . . . I'm a wizard. Every wizard and witch has one. A wand, I mean. It's individual to them, and none are exactly alike.

"This wand helps me do magic. I'm not supposed to do magic away from school grounds, but I could do a little something if that's all right, Professor."

Sora goes up to the front of the class. "My name is Sora, and I'm here because Queen Minnie said it would be good for me.." He trails off and holds out his keyblade. "This is my Keyblade, I'm the only one in my world who has one... I guess you have to be special or something to get it." shrugs and blushes a little feeling embaressed before going to quickly sit down.

"Belthazor," Belthazor said, clearly in an unpleasant mood. "I'm here to, uh, learn to work well with others."

He conjured a fireball in his hand. "Here's my object."

"I'm Kiki," she says quietly, "I'm a witch, and this is my hand-made broomstick that I use for flying."

There's a disgruntled mrowr from under her chair.

"And that's Jiji, my cat."

Hotaru waits for her turn, then pulls out her transformation crystal, which is looking surprisingly lackluster. She mutters her transformation phrase, then gestures to her glaive. "I'm Hotaru Tomoe, also known in this form as Sailor Saturn. My 'cool' object is the Silence Glaive." She then loses her transformation and skitters back to her seat with all due haste.

*rummages in book bag through books, journals, and writing utensils. Bypasses his revolver and a bottle of holy water to grab something he'd thrown into his bag at the last minute before setting out to class.*
