Ninja-ing - Wednesday 1st period - Week 2

"Hello everyone! Good morning, today we're going to work on a ninja's most important skill; stealth!" Yondaime grinned as he sat cross-legged in the clearing. "Ninja are undetectable, able to move swiftly and silently, this allows them to access places that are heavily guarded." Yondaime had a peculiar twinkle in his eyes as he spoke.

"To be a great ninja you need to learn how to move without a sound. It's harder than it seems. Your hair, clothing, shoes, surroundings will all work to give you away to your enemies. When trying to move stealthily into a particular building or area, it's always a good idea to spend time checking out the area, watching the movements of the people within and seeing if there’s a pattern to it."

The blond ninja stood up, the impish grin widening. "Now, for this week's class I want you to either work alone, or in pairs to sneak into a building where there will be these," he said pulling out a scroll from his pocket. "They will be hidden, some in plain sight, others not. Your goal is to sneak in undetected, and bring me back the unopened scroll at the next class. Why unopened? Because ninja are often hired to steal or deliver sensitive material and you have to be trust worthy. And believe me, there will be a nasty surprise if you open these."

"The building in question, is occupied by at least one person, sometimes more, heavily guarded and defended, with many windows, a great view of the water and is my house," He said grinning. "Please don’t make my question my sanity."

Anyways Arashi doesn't get out much, so he'll be home most of the time. It's completely optional, but if you want to have your character sneak in while he's there make a post here or contact me via e-mail -( yondaime . ninja @ g mail . com ) or AIM - yondaime ninja.

I am going to be gone Saturday and Sunday up to Victoria, but I'll be around these days.

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (not until late), Monday, Tuesday. I am on the West Coast and I do work without internet so my play time is limited to the late afternoon/evenings, but I'd love to be able to work things out with everyone!

Also! If your character opens up the scroll be prepared! Inside of them is the same sort of dye pack they use in banks to catch thieves, it will go off as soon as the scroll is opened and dye/stain whatever it touches.

Kabuto Yakushi

Kabuto was already looking through his cards. Yondaime really should be questioning his sanity right now.

Yes. Yes, he was completely and utterly insane. Kabuto was a firm believer in this. After Yondaime was finished, the other ninja approached him quietly. "Are you sure about this, Sensei?" he asked seriously, tilting his head to the side slightly.

Arashi looked surprised at Kabuto's lack of attitude. "No, not really. It's a big house and mostly empty since I don't have roommates. Are you all right?"

"A little sore," Kabuto admitted, rolling his shoulders. "But nothing to cause concern. Regardless of how big and empty your house is, it seems a little..." he trailed off with a shrug that prompted a slight wince. "Well, I suppose it is your decision to make."

Arashi shook his head with a smile. "It's all right. I've taken precautions, even against you."

That earned Arashi a smile in return. "I look forward to it. I haven't had a challenge in some time now." In an area other than self-healing, at least. Not that Kabuto was going to go into detail about his weekend with Arashi; there was a definite line between being friendly and TMI.

Setsuna sat for a bit looking over a few things she'd jotted down while listening to Yondaime as she started to build a few possible strategies in her head and trying to figure out if she'd like to do this solo or not...

Teddy looked around the class to see if anyone needed a partner.

In a fit of irony, Billy decided to ask Setsuna if she'd like to work together. "Hey."

Oh, look. The boyfriend. Setsuna shifted a little, scolding herself for being silly. She and Billy had a good friendship before all this Ami stuff, and she was actually trying to get Ami more into Billy now, anyway, so she could at least talk to the guy. "Hello, Billy." She nodded to him. "How're you?"

"I'm doing pretty good. You want to work together on this?" ~~I have a feeling that this evening or next I'm going to learn the hard way that going it alone is not a good idea~~

For a brief second, Setsuna stared at Billy like he was absolutely crazy. And then she shook her head and that thought away, and realized that she probably really should accept this proposal. "S..sure."

And, if they did work together on this, so help her, if he screwed it up...

"Cool. So, how and when do you think we should do this?"

"Um, well," Setsuna looked over a moment to check where Yondaime was before lowering her voice as she leaned in close toward Billy. "What we should do," she whispered, "is do a little bit of research first. Scope out the house, possibly find any spots of weakness for entrance, blind spots to be wary of, and potential hiding spots for the scrolls. We also need to try to find out more about its occupant; more specifically, when he is home, when he isn't, where he goes, for how long, if there's any regular activities that will give us a consistant window to work with..."

Billy listened and nodded. "We should also find out about his house mates if he has any. We can always stake the place out for a few days."

There was the 'I'm sorry, but you're slightly crazy' look again; she was not doing a full stake-out for a workshop assignment...She had other things to do. Her eyes shifted away a little as a voice in her head added that a lot of those 'things to do' involved things with Billy's girlfriend.

"Keep an eye on it, yes, for sure..."

Billy was doing his best to ignore that look. He filed it away under possible things to discuss with his therapist.

"You know if he has housemates?"

Setsuna shook her head. "I don't, but I'm sure that sort of information can be easily obtained by checking through some of the other faculty...."

"Sounds good. How are you at gaining entry at places?"

Setsuna gave him a nod. "Pretty good. A lot of my work back home involves breaking into places to snoop around."

"Excellent. I've gotten into some pretty secure places myself." He just kept getting caught once he was in there.

Setsuna nodded, blissfully unaware of any track records in getting caught. "Allright, then, how about we each do a little bit of scouting and information gathering and then regroup this weekend and review what we've learned."

"Sounds good." Billy nodded. "Sudden urge for a possibly silly question; do you have a typical outfit you wear when you're ninjaing?"

Setsuna blinked. That did seem like a pretty silly question. And potentially dirty, which made her eyes narrow slightly. "Depends on the situation. Classic black if it's a night mission. If it's during the day, exactly what I'm wearing now..."

"Well good, I'm going to be taking extra precautions. I have to say I'm really looking forward to next week," he grinned.

Maybe he'd get the frogs invovled in this. THAT would be fun.

Billy was totally unaware of any dirty inferred in such a question. He wouldn't have understood why any would have been inferred. He just occasionally had random bursts of whimsy.

"I just wondered. Different groups of ninjas, or different worlds might have different customs."

Setsuna shrugged. "It's just...whatever fits the situation, in my experience."

"Makes a bit more sense than the ninjas of my aquaintence."

Setsuna frowned. "...how so?"

"Well, my first Sensei tended towards a white gi and mask, no matter the mission. His sword brother always wore black, and one of my fellow students favored red. That never seemed to impede their sneakiness though."
