School Ruins - Teachers' Offices, Sunday Morning

After a cup of coffee, Thursday changed clothes and ventured up to the school. The school was a mess. The school board was on the ball, because workers from the mainland were in the area already, bringing in equipment to start to clean the place up. Some parts of the main building were completely decimated and sectioned off with hazard tape and rope lines. Other parts were more stable. The library, thankfully, was still in one piece, as was the Danger Shop.

The area where the teachers' offices were looked worse for wear, but at least the offices were still standing. Well, they were mostly still standing. The area had been labelled 'stable' and the workers were letting staff members in to see what they could salvage.

Thursday thanked the worker on guard duty and headed into the hallway. It was eerie since the building stopped suddenly at one end, the hallway cut off and suddenly exposed to open air. She reached her office, looked inside and sighed quietly.

There was a lot to clean up. They had a long summer ahead of them.

[OOC: If you want to come and check out your office, ping in with your own labelled thread. All of the offices were shaken up, but you can mod how bad the damage was and rescue any much-loved belongings.]

Fraser's Office

It wasn't a complete loss but the desk, shelves and chairs were a crumpled mess. His heavy jacket was in tatters and his rug was covered in dust.

"Good thing I didn't keep my spare uniforms here," he said to himself.

Aly's Office

Aly was glad she didn't keep anything too important in her office. After scrounging through the wreckage for a few practice locks, she found the one miniature case she was worried about and relaxed.

Ares' Office

Ares belatedly pinned a parchment with his students marks (http://sideburnsofwar.livejournal.com/5555.html) to the burnt wreckage of his door, before surveying the damage.

Thankfully the throne and the widescreen were intact.

Deadpool's Office

"BEEEEEEAAAAA! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

Yes, it would seem the aliens had destroyed his signed picture of Bea Arthur.

Roslin's Office

Stepping over chunks of rubble to get around her office, Laura saw the state of her bookshelf and sighed. The force of the blast had knocked it over, her books spilling onto the floor. Her coffee carafe had been shattered, and shards of glass glittered in the daylight peeking through a hole in her wall.

She knelt next to the pile of books. On top was the leather-bound volume Adama had given her. As she stood, she brushed the thick layer of dust from the cover. Aside from being a bit dirty and dusty, her belongings were mostly salvageable.

Maybe I can get the redesigning architect to make that a window, she thought, examining the almost circular hole. She smiled. What was the saying about making lemonade?

John's Office

John had had to make his way through considerable rubble to get to his office, but when he got there, he was pleasantly surprised to find it mostly intact.

There were books and papers scattered all over, but the most significant damage seemed to be the cork board that had covered one wall which had been shaken loose and was now leaning precariously against his desk.

Stepping carefully through the mess, John shifted the board off his desk and opened the locked top drawer. Only when he was able to pull out his journal still in perfect condition did he allow himself a relieved smile.
