Saturday, early afternoon: A small strike team heads for Connor's office

Beka, Callisto, and Rogue make for Connor's office. They're alone, light on their feet, and heavily armed.

Rogue walks along beside Beka and Callisto, keeping a careful eye out for anything odd. "So, we think last night was...the first wave?" she asks, thought she doesn't stop scanning the room.

Callisto nods, eyeing the hallway for something to attack. "Nothing else makes sense."

They'd talked about this last night on the bathroom run, so Beka picks up where Callisto left off. "They knew where we were. Didn't come in force to kill us. They're testing us."

"Yeah, I guess." She gives the other two a lopsided, humorless grin. "I didn't think zombies were that smart."

Still watching the halls as the move, Rogue says, "You know, I can handle police, and mutants, even the freakin' army, but this? This is way outside even MY experience."

"I don't think they're on their own. Zombies don't just show up." Beka has a (canon) fondness for horror stories. They never do just "show up". "There's always someone behind them."

Abruptly, she stops. Cocks her head. Shakes it. "Thought I heard something. Where is Connor's office?"

Rogue stops too, holding her hand up to quiet the others. "Yeah, I definitely hear something. Someone--or somethin', I can't tell--is walkin' toward us." She looks at the other two. "Not that I'm against fightin', or anything, but maybe we should move out, save our ammo for later?"

"Good plan. Let's head."

Callisto looks like she'd rather fight, but Beka puts a hand on her arm. "Take the rear. If they come, you can be first, and we'll waste a lot less ammo."

((OOC: For the record... unless you know what security the principal's got in place in that office? It's quite possible she's going to come back and explain that you all died by acid bath, or the place just blew up. She did mention that she did bad things to the place.))

The three girls hurry down the hall, looking for Connor's office. "I wonder if Pheebs is still in the weapons locker?" Rogue asks. "And if there's anything left, really."

"Doubt it. But... of course. Firing range." She grins at Rogue and Callisto. "The one place we haven't been yet. Let's go!"

*Rushes across the campus, stopping Beka and co before they reach the office*

Beka, I got your message about the raid. Yeah, we need ammo and munitions and whatnot... but the *principal's office*? I wouldn't go messing with her or her space if I were you. (But you being you, will probably ignore me). Look last night Phoebe was passing out weapons from the firing range. You might want to check there for what's left.

Rogue pauses, agreeing with Beka that it's probably the best bet. "You know, to be quite honest, I haven't been to firing range since I got to school, so I'm not really sure where it is. I was hoping I wouldn't need that skill around here." She shrugs. "I'm going to have to work on that if--when we all make it out of this alive."

Beka motions over her head and back the way they came. "This way. We'll make it out fine. That's what people like us do. Make it to tomorrow."

"We'd better make it 'til parent's weekend at least. Logan's never gonna believe I can take care of myself otherwise." Rogue follows Beka, straining to hear any unusal sounds.

A startled laugh forces it's way past Beka's lips. "Parent's weekend. Deal. And you and I will go to the firing range."

Beka peers down the hall, careful not to step in splattered zombie gore.

Rogue nods. "I think you'd both like Logan," she says, a slight grin on her face.

She looks down at the nast-covered ground, a look of disgust on her face. "Ew. But zombie goo is better than zombie."
