Chess Club (03/08, 5pm FHT)

With Ami in the clinic, Aziraphale stepped up as club advisor to open the weekly Chess Club meeting. He had all the tables and boards laid out as Ami had done last time, and the two handouts she'd made were also available. Additionally, there were cookies and sodas available on a table in the back of the room.

"Miss Mizuno is not able to be here today, so I hope you'll all be able to take some time to practice and to share, er, playing strategies. And of course, let me know if you have any questions."

He really hoped no one would ask him any questions, though.

[ooc: Putting this up per Ami!mun's request. My own availability is spotty at the moment, so Aziraphale may not be very talkative.]

As she set up a board for a game, Turtle was wondering why she was having trouble distinguing the king piece from the queen piece.

Naomi got a couple of cookies even though it was probably not the smartest thing to do when she was now recovering from eating too many brownies the previous night.

"Hey," Sokka said, grabbing a handful himself, "leave some for the rest of us!"

Sokka stood around and watched people play for a while, and then sighed, grabbed a bunch more cookies, and left. Today was NOT the kind of day to concentrate on a game this hard.

Irulan looked at the board, so this was some form of strategy game then?

"Psssh," Turtle shook her head, "there's plenty. Nice braid," she smirked, looking carefully as she played the Which guy is this? game; remembered seeing him/her in Science! to, so that meant... "Sokka. Clearly, you've finally come around to true high fashion." She tossed her own braid over her shoulder in a display of perfect couture.

"Uh... No, actually. The hair kind of came like this."

"What, is it a wig or something?"

"No, I mean, I woke up and it was already braided. I look like this cute bendy evil girl, and she always has her hair like this."

Turtle nodded, accepting this as a decent answer, because it suggested that girls who wore their hair in braids were cute and possibly evil, which she considered to be true about herself. "I see."
