There was a table by the door with an informational handout for everyone to take as they came in. Logan was sitting on his desk again, the screens off, and he waited until everyone had taken their seats before beginning.

"So, like we began with the question last week, we're going to be delving a little into your personal relationships with media, using the format from a radio program called the 'Desert Island Discs'.

"Imagine you're a castaway on a desert island. Now imagine that you're allowed to take four pieces of music with you." He smiled slightly. "I realize that, for some people at least, your tastes are always changing, but this is just for the assignment, so try not to overthink it.

"In addition to the four pieces of music, you get to have one book - not counting the Bible or any of the works of Shakespeare - and one luxury item which has to be inanimate and have no practical use.

"That's the first part of the assignment. Go ahead and take a few minutes to write that down, get it on paper."

Logan let the class do that, getting himself a cup of coffee while he waited. After about fifteen minutes, he returned to the head of the class. "Okay, now we pair off. Find a classmate and trade lists. Once you've done that, take turns discussing items on your lists, why you made them, why they're important to you - I don't expect you to necessarily be familiar with what your classmate's choices are, but have an open mind, engage in some discussion here."

Buffy sighed and crossed out the stake. "Do I have to own what I bring?"

Logan tried not to think about why a teenage girl would need a stake to begin with. "Nope!"

She bent over her paper, and ended up with a list that went:

Logan gave her a thoughtful look. "If someone were holding a gun to your head and told you to name the first four songs that came to mind, what would you say?"

Zero flailed wordlessly some more before rattling off two songs by her mother and one by her father pretend they have names. "And I'm Your Cuddlebug by Little Davey and the Sterlings." Which was also her father, but she was kind of sworn to secrecy on that.

Haruhi had her list nearly done-- a book and four songs she found herself liking, as she wasn't too big on music-- except for the one item. She didn't really want much of anything now, what would she bring on an island?
