Aly perched on top of her desk, watching her students enter the classroom with a bit of a smile. She nodded to those she knew before and smiled at the ones who looked like they were probably brand new. Once everyone was seated, she stood up and leaned against the desk.

"Good afternoon. Some of you know me already, but for those of you who don't, I'm Alianne of Pirate's Swoop. You all can call me Aly, but if you're uncomfortable with that, duani is also acceptable." She grinned. "First person to call me Miss Aly, I get to demonstrate on. This class is 'So You Say You Want a Revolution.' If you're not interested in revolutions or you thought you were taking Home Ec - that was first period. You missed it."

"During the term, we're going to talk about why formenting revolution can be a good thing. We're going to discuss what revolutions can be used for, how they can be put together, and why a failed revolution can be just as effective." She gazed at all of them with a slight smile. "And yes, I still hate theory so practicalities will be covered. Demolitions, weaponry, organisation, magic - or not, tactics." She grinned. "And my favourite, intelligence."

"Seven years ago, I helped organise a rebellion that put my Queen in power and have served as her Spymaster ever since. Almost everything I'm going to be teaching you is what I learned during the rebellion and in the years since. And if I didn't learn it there, it's something that was useful to me at the time." She paused thoughtfully, stroking her black beaded necklace. "In spying, your brain is almost everything - half of spying is half mental as I've said before. But a single person can't put together an effective revolution. But a single person can destroy one. And a failed rebellion feeds only the ravens and Stormwings. It's a dangerous game. And one you have to commit to fully if you're going to succeed."

"So today, I'd like to get to know those of you I don't know already, and I'd like to hear what you think about revolutions and rebellions. When are they appropriate, what would it take to rebel against the current power structure of your home country, society, or even this school." She smiled mischievously. "Zuko and Bridge are your TAs for this class. They'll help me with many of the aspects so if you have any questions and I'm not around, feel free to ask them."

Bel wondered what Parker's deal was.

Probably that time of month.

"He's Fire Lord," Zuko said. "It's his destiny to know."

"How would you know if the new government would be better than the old?" Aly asked, less challenging than just inquiring.

6 glanced at Parker and wondered all the ways they could've gotten to her. Or worse, if they hadn't and were simply going to use her as a pawn against him. A pang of regret was quickly squelched as he resolved to maintain his distance.

Isabel facepalmed remembering Angel and the nuns at the art heist. Nun porn? It had genetic. And transdimensional.

Parker facepalmed and muttered, "Underwear optional, too," then tried to look innocent.

Aly held up her hands. "And yet it's on all the school paperwork."

"Who decides when the current system has proven itself tyrannical," Aly asked.

Parker looked up from her notes at one point, thinking, and nodded to 6, giving him a quick, abstracted smile and a wave to welcome him back. "Hey."

6 glowered (with a tinge of angst, woe) and looked preoccupied with his Freedom Journal.

"When they're making people's lives bad?"

"So why are there rebels and traitors?" Jamie asked innocently.

Parker wondered what was up with him, then remembered, It's 6, could be anything, and went back to her notes, frowning as she tried to figure out how many people she'd need on her side.

"I'm Isabel Evans. I'm from Roswell and at some point I have to help my brother get his throne back."

"Perhaps you are trying to cause a revolution," Zuko pointed out.

"There probably really aren't any guarantees. Just because people have the right idea doesn't always mean they can rebuild a successful government and rebuild society, or deal with the aftermath," she says. "But sometimes it's better than what's already in place."

Aly looked amused. "You'll need a space ship to show up first?"

"Because some people do not have the best interest of the nation at hard," Zuko replied, narrowing his eyes at Jamie.

Aly nodded. "You've obviously thought about this before. Let me ask you this. What would the aims of a revolution against this inherently corrupt and unresponsive power structure be?"

"When did you sneak out of LA?" Isabel leaned over and asked. "I never even got to say Happy New Year!"

"Tyranny should be self-evident," 6 said, "once one's privacy is invaded and one's freedom curtailed. Unfortunately, my experience has been that the people as a mass are quite willing to be herded like sheep into pens, happy to have privacy, freedom, and choice removed to make things easier for them." He looked like he might vomit for a second. "It is the responsibility of those who maintain a whole, uncompromising self to determine the necessity of revolution and to carry it out."

Good thing Anders didn't know that, or he would've headdesked himself into oblivion.

"To restore the rightful government," Isabel said.

Aly listened to the exchange with some sympathy masked behind her general amused expression. "When does this destiny settle upon the Fire Lord - or the ruler?" she asked. "With the placing of the crown, instant knowledge arrives? Does only the Fire Lord receive this knowledge? From the Gods? Or is it simply the will of a man?"

"To... replace it with another system, one more responsive," Parker said slowly. "To re-institute those guaranteed rights." She frowned, gnawing on her lower lip as she tried to keep her brain on-topic. "To have a public airing of grievances, and a public address of wrongs." She let out a slow breath. "For a start."
