Thomasina gets to class on time, as usual. She signs the roll sheet, takes her seat at her table, flies through taking the quiz on plate tectonics(the images Ms. Sidle showed them last class are still vivid in her memory - she doesn't think she'll ever be able to forget them) and then completes the experiment. Geology doesn't excite her for the most part, but she's determined to do well at all the new things she tries here and the subject doesn't actually qualify as completely uninteresting, so she works hard and carefully.
