Gun Club, 12-3 pm, the Gym

The gym had been set up with a number of barriers, panels, obstacles, and mats, including two areas marked "Gold" and "Blue". Lazer tag equipment - padding, chestplates with lights, and laser guns - was laid out at a table by the door. A sign outside the Gym said Gun Club Meeting - Lazer Tag - Non-members welcome!

Parker had put on equipment already, and grinned when people came in. "Hey, guys. Grab some equipment and pick a team. Dodge-ball rules: three hits, and you're 'out', and have to wait until someone drags you to your team-designated area so you can be 'in' again. Winning team has the most people still standing at 3pm. Have fun!"

Nadia hadn't done laser tag before, but it looked interesting enough. She sorted through the equipment, looking for a size that wouldn't weigh her down too much.

Parker ducked down behind one barrier, then fired shots at the closest three Gold team members before ducking again.

"Hey, Nadia." Parker waved to her as she came in, swinging her legs as she perched on one of the barriers. "Ever played before?"

"Nope. It sounds interesting, though."

"I thought a change from just target practice would be fun. More of a challenge." Parker pointed and shot at one of the discarded breastplates, and the lights and buzzer went off. "And maybe pull in a few more people, since they're not real guns."

"It's a good challenge to work with different weapons, too," Nadia looked over one of the laser guns. "Getting used to a different feel, and everything."

Jack was picking through the equipment kind of distractedly, putting it on as he found bits in the right size.

Parker nodded. "These are closer to Aeryn and Luke's weapons for weight, although they don't have any recoil." She pointed one at herself, and set off the buzzer, then slapped the button to turn it off. "You ready for tonight's Teal Dear performance?"

"Oh yeah. I'm looking forward to it." Since last time, she hadn't been exactly sober. Plus? Any time spent not thinking about what had happened yesterday was a definite bonus.

"Hopefully people who didn't make it last time because of the -- Emooo? Will make it this time." Parker rolled her eyes. "And I'll be in a headspace to record you guys for a demo tape."

"Jack!" Parker shot at one of the pieces in his hand, setting off the lights. "Be on my team?"

Parker cocked an eyebrow. "Yeeeeah. Zero mentioned that. I didn't want to say anything, since, well, it's her band. But that's good to hear."

Jack jumped slightly - he really hadn't been paying attention - and grinned at her, twirling the gun in one hand. "Always, Parker."

Jack followed Parker, crouching low and keeping watch behind her, just in case any sneaky gold team members tried to sneak up behind them. Sneakily.

Parker let out a breath. "Good to know. I wish I'd had that excuse, but, what the hell. It's been two weeks. And I want you guys to get more jobs. There's one in Baltimore next month, by the way. November 4th, if that's okay with everyone."

"Yay!" Parker bumped a shoulder against his. "Hey, if you want to call in Cedric, this is one time when newbies are definitely welcome. I wonder what's keeping Sam?"
