As the students enter the classroom, Elliot tosses a weird-shaped plush .... thing at each one.

"Hi. I just gave you guys syphilis, the flu and mad cow disease, and some other stuff" she said gleefully. "Hope you don't mind. Take them home, introduce them to your other roommates, freak people out with them, whatever. But you're getting them today because they fit in with what we're going to talk about, which is bacteria and viruses -- or what you guys might call germs."

She went on to give what was no doubt a completely fascinating lecture about the differences between bacteria and viruses, how they were spread, and the diseases they could cause, and then gestured to two glittery markers set on a table in the front of the class.

"I want you to pass the marker around and take turns writing something on the posterboard. Touch the marker and the paper as you usually would. Watch where the glitter gets on your body and now it gets there, and think about how germs might be similar. I guarantee, you'll never want to touch anything again without rubber gloves and anti-bacterial soap. Which is kind of a bad thing, because it's helping make giant superstrong bacterium that will probably take over the world and cause a plague and kill everyone. So, um, just wash your hands with regular soap, okay?"

She held out the marker to the first student, holding it by the less glittery end. "Go to it."

Buffy Summers

"Aww," Buffy said, and cuddled the Mono microbe. "They're so cute!"

"Kind of almost makes you want to get sick," Elliot agreed. "Not quite, but almost."

She smiled. "Do you have that makeup work we talked about last week?"

"I do!" Buffy said proudly and dug into her bag. She came up with a couple of sheets of paper, which she presented to Elliot. The papers were covered in girly handwriting and doodles and Buffy's personaly opinion on topics.

Shawn Farrell.

Shawn examined his microbe. It was fluffy and pink, and... "Anyone want to trade syphilis for a cold?"

Elliot glanced it over quickly. "Perfect," she said. "Thanks for this, Buffy."

Buffy beamed. "Thanks for letting me do it!"

Jamie Madrox

"I have the clap. Care to trade?" Jamie asked.

Jamie boggled at the amount of glitter on his hands and shivered. "Um... Dr. Ried? Is there a way to clean objects throughly so they are germ free?"

"Sure, man." Shawn agreed holding out his pink curly bacteria. "It's pink, and it can make you blind and crazy. Enjoy."

Setsuna Sakurazaki

Setsuna gulped a bit as she looked over the plague she had just gotten. She should not be finding the plague so cute. It had blue eyes like Ranma.

Meanwhile, we'll just leave it at the fact that the whole thing with the glitter was a fiasco. In the best sense of the word. She'd get glitter on her hands, forget that it was supposed to happen and try to wipe it on her skirt, and then realizing she had glitter on her skirt, try to wipe it off, miss, get it on her knees, start flailing a bit because she was getting glitter all over herself, which only caused more glitter to get everywhere and...and...

"How can there even be this much glitter on this thing?"

"Soap, water, elbow grease," Elliot ticked off. "Lysol, or something like it."

Elliot glanced over at Setsuna, mild surprise on her face. "The marker must have liked you," she said. "If it helps? It should come off with soap and water. Just try not to touch too many things on your way to the shower."

Jamie started taking notes. "Any cleaner that would be more effective than another? Or will regular soap will do the trick?"

"That's really the janitor's department," Elliot said, but gave him the brand name of the stuff that was used in the hospital. "But if it helps? Unless you're eating, sick or doing surgery, a few germs are not the worst thing in the world."

Setsuna quickly passed the marker on, slumping back in her chair with her arms crossed over her chest...realizing that, great, now her elbows had glitter all over them too. She groaned, and softly brought her forehead to the desk. "I hate you, glitter," she mumbled.

"We'll see about that," Jamie said making note of the recommended cleaner.

"Viruses and bacteria shouldn't be this cute," Summer said as she held the flu.

"Have fun with the clap," Jamie said. "You'll probably get a discharge from your you-know-what and eventually become sterile if you don't get treatment."

"I know!" Buffy held up the mono. "Aren't they just adorable?"

"They really are," Summer replied. "Too bad they aren't this cute for real."

"It beats warts, mucus, insanity and death," Shawn replied shrugging.
