Health, Friday, Period 3
Elliot practically skips into class wearing a full-skirted dress and a little cardigan. She's not exactly low-key most days, but today she seems especially perky, in a teacher sort of way.
"Hello, class! Isn't today a lovely day for Homecoming? I have a wee, eensy little quiz you're supposed to take, and then we have a filmstrip to watch about one of the most important issues facing all of you. It's called Are You Popular?. This film shows that popularity isn't about going out with a lot of people -- it takes several strategies to build the kind of reputation that will make boys and girls both want to be around you! After we've watched it, I would like for you each to share something with the class that you do to be popular."
"Oh, and we have a special treat for you in three weeks. Instead of class on the 27th, you'll be going on a special field trip with Ms. Frizzle on the 26th to learn about anatomy. We'll be meeting in front of the school before 7th period. Please let me know if you won't be able to make it!"
[OOC: If you can't watch the film, there's a synopsis and some reaction here.]

3. Name four things you can do to relieve stress. Discuss their benefits.
4. What might you say to deter a peer from smoking?
[OOC: Handwave or go back to old classes for answers, but tell me how well you did.]

2. How many servings of milk or cheese does a growing teenage boy need each day? "Five." He's just guessing really, but if he seems confident maybe it'll be right.
3. Name four things you can do to relieve stress. Discuss their benefits. This one seems pretty simple, "Meditate, sleep, listen to music and read, because they're relaxing."
4. What might you say to deter a peer from smoking? "Look at these pictures of diseased lungs!"
Shawn thinks he did well enough to pass reasonably, but seeing as some of it was total guesswork, you never can tell.

2. Three
3. Meditate, yoga, rest, positive attitude. These help reduce anxiety.
4. "Smoking is gross? Ew!"
Summer probably could have put more thought into some of her answers, but she did mostly okay.
