Flight Club, Monday, 4 pm in the flight shed

Aeryn gets to the flight shed early, watching everyone arrive. When it looks like everyone's there, she goes straight into her talk. Someone might someday teach her the value of 'hello.'

"Today we're going to work on something from Earth," she says. "It's called a F/A-18E Super Hornet, and while it doesn't go into space, it is actually in use today. Personally I like space flying better, but this isn't bad. The controls are a little different than last week, but I'll be there to help if you need it." She's very good at not facepalming at those who probably will.

Evie looked around frantically, then finally flipped the switch for 'engage engine'. "I forgot-- whoops!" The Boeing lurched a little, and she bounced with glee. "Oh, it's going! It's going!"

"Many of the systems are actually the same, just in different places. The differences are really in the difference in gravity, in that now you have to work with it," she tells her, pointing them out.

Naomi nodded as she turned on the right switches and started flying. Aside from the slight difficulty in adjusting to gravity it was a much smoother run than last weeks.

"Right, right. Yes." Evie took a huge breath, and pushed the stick forward, watching every single thing, her hands shaking a bit. Slooooooowly the jet taxi'd down the simulated runway, gathering speed.

They ran out of runway before she got it off the ground. "Eeeeep..."

"I have to say better," Naomi replied, "of course when I was younger I thought it was really cool because it was my first away mission, true I did want to be able to fly Voyager but it was probably a good thing that never happened,"

"Oh, dear," Evie said, dismally. The simulator reset, and she took a breath. "I can do better! I can do it again, faster!" She started flipping switches, talking under her breath again, brow furrowed.

Broots didn't bounce, really. He did manage to get into the air. He just forgot that computers don't care with how much strength you punch the bottom. Which is why his turn was almost at 90 degrees.

"What kind of ship is Voyager?" she asks, curious.

"Just pay very careful attention to what you're doing. Stay focused," Aeryn says. And if they crash, she really is heading out to Caritas afterwards.

"Not, sure." Billy said. "I think that one starts her up, I'm not worrying about the weapons, altimeter and fuel and speedometer are strait forward enough. Do you think I've got it?"
