Superheroing 101 - Friday 11/5, 3rd period

“The island did something unexpected again last weekend,” Stark said once all the students had arrived in the classroom. “Or maybe it was expected? I thought something might happen but I’m not sure anyone predicted exactly what did happen. I hope everyone is recovered, if anything happened to you.” By which he meant, of course, if you’d turned into a monster of some sort at the dance on Saturday.

“Some people turned into monsters. Monsters can be villains. They aren’t always.” Kitty’s version of a monster certainly hadn’t been! “Villains aren’t always monsters.” At least not the obvious sort.

“Heroes tend to have villains to fight. Are there villains where you’re from? Or monsters? People, or creatures, that need fighting? Someone or something that others need to be protected from? What makes them villains? What makes a monster?”

Things were getting a little philosophical here in Superheroing 101 this week. Maybe Stark had spent some time thinking of what sort of monster he might have ended up as had the dance gone differently. Maybe he was just thinking of villains from his own past when there hadn’t been any superheroes around to deal with them.

“Some things to think about,” he said. “And discuss.”

How to Be A Chocobro; Friday, First Period [11/05].

There had actually been a really great lesson planned for that day, and maybe it was because they'd been trying to avoid the Danger Shop because of the whole chocobo problem, or what, but it seemed that the Danger Shop had a very, very different idea of what the class would be doing that day.

Well thought-out, complex team building exercises that would enrich everyone's experience and get the class to grow together as a group?

Nope! Sorry! You just got a room full of chocobos. And it somehow just kept filling with chocobos. To the point where even Prompto had to admit that this was waaaaay too many chocobos.

And since Gladio was the one that could be seen the easiest over the heads of all these crowding giant riding birds, he was going to go ahead and call out to the students as they came in, "Hey, guys! As you can see, the Danger Shop seems to be back on its choco-glitch bullshit! Prompto is...trying to make his way to the controls to figure out how to cull them back a little bit, Ignis is working on something with some gyshal greens to lure them somewhere where we might actually have some room, but....it's not promising! So that's what we're doing today! Get on in here and see if you can figure out exactly where all these chocobos might be coming from, what we can do to get them under control, or anything else that might be helpful! It's not every day you'll be stuffed into a room with too many chocobos, but, hey, if you ever are? Maybe we'll all learn something here that'll be helpful!"

In a way, maybe, it still could be a very helpful team building experience, right?

Teamwork, Friday, November 5, 2021

It was freezing outside and there was a wind whipping from the beach over to the cliffs, but that didn't seem to deter Steve's chipper-ness at all. It seemed to increase the further Tony curled around his coffee cup, even.

"Good morning, everyone!" he said, beaming. "Today we're doing trust falls!"

Yay?

"We have hot cocoa for after," Tony promised immediately. That helped, right?

"Now climb on up the cliffs and we'll jump from the top!"

Steven. Steven, no.

"Onto a safe, perfectly safe, landing pad." Making Tony be the safe one wasn't fair, you know.

"Well, that's less fun," Steve said.

"We'll do a more advanced one in the danger shop," he promised. "Maybe as a final exam."

Steve's entire face lit up. "That sounds swell!"
